Rare or New Chicken breeds

I have been looking at the New or Rare chicken breeds. My question is if only 1 source is bringing them in from overseas are we inbreeding the birds that are here now? I want the following bird but I want to also breed them.
Birchen Marans
Smaaland
Swedish flower
Bielefelder

I had a Bielfelder rooster, that I got from a breeder, as they had ordered a dozen eggs, 8 hatched, 6 were roosters. He was not a real go getter, tended to keep his hens very close to the coop. The chicks out of him were not real good layers.

I have a terrible time with predators, and thought that the color pattern would blend in more, but not such good luck.

They were just not real vigorous.
