rash after cleaning coop?!

after cleaning the chicken coop the other day, both myself and the farmer I work for noticed a rash all over our stomachs. it almost looks like little insect bites. he complained that he was feeling itchy as he cleaned out the litter; I did not have this reaction, and didn't even notice the rash until the next day. could these be mite bites? strangely, it is isolated to only the stomach region and slightly on the lower back- this is true for both of us. does anyone have any clue as to what this might be and any remedies for getting these unslightly red dots off of my midregion?!

Could it have been from fleas? The sticktight fleas that are on poultry are almost too small to see.
