Rasing chicks in the desert southwest?

Hello, I have questions for desert chicken-keepers. We're moving from WY to AZ's low desert. I assume they'll be some differences in how/when we raise chicks. When is the best time to start chicks? We plan to brood in our garage, which does not have AC. If it is hot out, I suppose we won't have to use a heat lamp? I also suppose we can put them out in a coop earlier than in WY...how early?

Any time is early. NO heat lamp unless in winter or at night.

Is there anytime to be avoided because it's too hot? We want to start chicks this fall. Is there a better month?
