Sooo, there's a new threat to our beloved chickens, and it's arrived in my area... "Raspberry Crazy Ants"

It sounds made up, but here's the news article: http://www.statesman.com/news/local...liamson-2329518.html?cxtype=rss_ece_frontpage

Apparently, these ants out-compete fire-ants, and they have a bad habit of swarming, invading houses, burning out electrical devices, and... killing chickens.

I can't put the usual granular poison down as the chucks will eat it... Any suggestions?

I ask because the nearest outbreak is in Old Settler's Park, and guess where I live?

I've heard about them on the local news. Sevin dust kills fire ants without harm to your chickens. I dont see why it wouldnt work on the 'crazy ants.'
