Can anyone tell me if this little girl has nice lacing? I've never had Silver Laced of any breed, so I'm wondering. She is hatchery stock, I know, just want to know if this is close to the right look or not.

I would say both her lacing and type for a cochin are not good. As I understand it really good SL cochins are hard to come by. Hopefully someone else with more cochin experience will chime in.

She looks to have some more filling out to do so I would not make a size judgment until she is a year old.

In that case- she looks great. She'll still fill out more. Sometimes they don't have their best lacing until after a first molt. I'd love to have her in my banty flock!

Thanks! She is a real sweetie, too. She's the only chicken we've had that will fly up on your shoulder (or head if you don't watch out!).

Ahhhh, what a doll. You just want to hug her and squeeze her and call her...doll baby. I would be so proud to have her. Super cute.

I think she looks pretty good for a hatchery bird. I think the silver laced varitey is beautiful, I would encourage you to work on this color if you like it. There are many folks here that can point you in the right direction on what to cross her with to improve the type. She has a decent cochin head and good wings:)
