Rats around the coop

Hello all!
So we have recently discovered that there is like 1-2 rats hanging around the coop. It doesn't appear that they've made it inside the chicken pin yet (good fencing and to hard to dig in) but i have a pin connected to the chicken area with softer ground and they've been going to town digging in there. They haven't messed with my feed shed because i keep all of the food locked up very well. Just need these guys gone before they cause trouble!

You can try traps. I particularly like the ones that electrocute them. When I had a rat pair I had to use a raccoon trap and poison to get them, though.

If you've seen a rat, you most likely have an infestation. Time to go on the offensive by what ever means you are comfortable using: kill traps, live traps (followed by killing!), poison, water bucket traps, pellet gun... Remove all food at night, consider switching to fermented feed so the varmints can't carry food back to their nests.
