Razor wire to protect from predators?

It seems to me putting razor wire around their chickens to protect from predators is a bit of overkill (literally). Ugg... razor wire deters humans because humans understand that they'll get sliced the heck up... all this is going to do is end up maiming and killing animals that just want a meal and causing suffering. There have to be more humane ways of dealing with predators.

On top of that, I don't think it will work. It certainly wouldn't stop weasels or raccoons and fox could probably jump over.

I agree... I posted this when I saw the post in the Predators forum about the person who had another large opossum last night and they have their razor wire on order...
Sure, opossum are ugly, ugly creatures, and certainly are a threat to our chickens, both in city and country, but it seems to me that there must be a better and more humane way to ward off all the predators without damaging or killing them.
