Well i caught this bad boy coming out of my one blue bird house.. he scaled up a small 5ft bare tree trunk to get inside this house,,
luckily they 2 pair of blue birds here selected other houses mounted on metal fence stakes..

Caught him and put him in a burlap bag and he is now looking for a new farm to hunt mice on.. free to good home..got plenty of others here that get to stay as long as i don't catch them around the coops/flight pens or bird houses..

How beautiful! Is it a Black Rat? We had a Black Rat get tangeled in the bird netting of the strawberries when I was younger and a Robin was attacking it. My dad felt bad for it, so my mom held the head down with a small rake and he cut it out of the netting. Sorry to say we didn't think to re-home it or why the Robin was attacking it; the next day the eggs were all destroyed in the Robin's nest under the deck. It was 20 feet up!!! Learned early on about the food chain.

OMG I ran over his twin brother in my Miata yesterday! That snake was so big it almost tossed my car off the road. I thought about backing up again, but I was too creeped out by the initial thump of it all.

WE have those here too. My lil Min Pins. were after one yesterday who was heading for my baby ducks. Then I went to help shoo him. Won't be able to help him much if he comes at night w/ the GSD's loose they will kill him . It does make me worry for the lil baby ducks. I don't think he will bother them once they are grown. The babies live on my porch with the attack min pins. Ha!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup this guy is a black rat, however we have black racers here as well and they are super fast..

I kill no snakes here, not even the poisonous ones for the most part,,i will catch them with my snake pole and bag and move them up onto the mountain which is were this lil 4ft boy is headed this afternoon,

i did kill one rattler about 3 years ago only because he was inside my chicken run which i did not know it until i let the buffs out into the run.

next thing i hear chickens cackling and carrying on, ran back up to the run and there the chickens are around this 6 ft rattle snake and he was ticked, well i didn't have time to get into the run with the snake grabber and just grabbed up the 22 sitting real close by and put the cross on the head and bang..
But i don't like killing snakes at all, they will keep most of are farm clean of rodents and chipmunks for the most part..

I even kept a few from time to time in aquariums just to study and watch them for about a week or two then release them back into the wild.
