I had a chicken, 4 week old Australorp acting strange yesterday so we seperated her from the rest of the flock. She was tucking her head under her chest and falling over. I gave her vitamins and hand fed her all day, making sure she drank plenty of water. Today she is acting perfectly normal, eating, drinking, and pooping normal. How long should I wait before re-introducing her to the rest of the flock? What's the best way to do it?

Do your girls free range or are they confined to a small run? If they are free ranging, I think it would fine to put her out there anytime. The rest of the flock won't pay much attention. If they are in a small run, you might wait until after dark and just put her back on a roost...Good luck!

They have a 12x12 run and an 8x12 coop. I think I will keep her inside for a couple more days just to be sure and then sneak her out at night. Thanks for the advice!

I would actually wait at least a week or so just to make sure that whatever she had is totally gone.
