I have some baby chicks who were being pecked at...they had a good bit of blood on them. I seperated them from the rest of the flock...I was wondering how long i should keep them out for? It's been a few days and they still have a bit of dried blood on them. Also wondering if i'm gonna have any problems re-introducing them to the rest of the flock? Like if they are gonna be ganged up on immediately since they've been away....this is my first time dealing with chickens...any feedback would be appreciated.

! Happy to have you here! Make sure their wounds are healed and there is no blood - dried or otherwise on them. I'd re-intro them by separating them with a fence so they can have access but not contact for a several days. Then after that time you can out the newbies in the coop at dark (they won't get picked on in the dark) and then let them out at first light so they aren't trapped together. Then monitor their behavior toward the newbies. Good luck to you!

It is better to introduce chicks to the flock when they are more or less fully grown and can handle the pecking and bullying better. In the meantime, do as Redsoxs suggested and keep them within sight, but separate from the rest of the flock. Good luck!

Thanks for the thoughts....got them back with the rest of the flock with no problems
