Hey y'all. My name is Karen. I grew up on a farm. We grew a lot of fruits and veggies, raised sheep, horses, pigs, cattle, chickens, rabbits, ducks, and of course had dogs and cats. I was in 4-H. I have always cooked, baked, crocheted, sewn, and all sorts of crafty things. The crafts have always been part of my life, but living in the suburbs, no sun in our yard, no room for a garden or chickens, and frankly our county just approved chicken keeping for those of us with less than 2 acres, I have gotten far away from my roots. Now I am aching to get back into it all. I want to start with chickens. I am looking forward to learning a lot about raising and keeping a flock. Hopefully in a few years Hubby and I will be retiring to our property and will have the space and time for all of the above! I am looking forward to learning all I can about chickens.

Welcome to BYC and welcome back to the world of chicken keeping! We've got a lot of fantastically informative folks here who'll be able to help you on your new project. It's great to have you with us.

Hi and
welcome-byc.gif
- glad that you have joined us.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre (even if you have lots of experience)
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

There are threads on subjects other than our feathered friends - baking, quilting etc etc, so feel free to visit those that may interest you and join in!

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread

All the best

Welcome Back to Chickens. The Learning Center would make a great refresher course, if you care to check it out. Chicken roots go deep, so I'm sure it will come back to you.
