Are there any tried and true resources for realistic size of specific quail breeds? We breed for meat and I'm looking for live weights at the average butcher size.
I've been burned three separate times now with people claiming their 'jumbo' coturnix are 1 lb live weight and my four month adults are between 10 and 13 ounces.
I would also love to know the average live weights on gambel quail, valley quail, mountain quail, blue scale quail, and anything else interesting that has a larger butcher weight than say, the bobwhite.
