Really a Rhode Island Red?

I thought the feathers are supposed to be all one color? This chick is 3-4 weeks old, I think.

Yes.... the light color of the chick suggests production red..they seem to show more color in them...they do eventually turn all red though.give it about 3 more weeks.

Right now she's 6 weeks and she's getting redder and losing the grey. Yours might be a RIR too.

I also Agree. My RIR Lucy looked just like this too, and now she is a big beautiful feisty Rhode Island Red!!

No the first one is a Light Brahma, then a BO and RIR mix, then the RIR, then the last one is a GLW. :) They are much older now.
