(really) stinky winter coop

I think the misconception is that the birds need to stay warm with artificial heat their whole life. They need heat when there young before they get adult feathers. Once they have their feathers, they just need to stay out of drafts. Ventilation adds air movement, fresh air,and removes the moisture..Dampness (wet feathers) and no new air is what will kill your birds or get them sick.
 
I use poop boards with PDZ with a chicken fencing guard over that so they aren't walking in their poop. I clean every 3 days and no smells. I also hang vanilla car air fresheners. I heard that was good to repel flies and the coop smells like vanilla. I also have a lot of ventilation.
