Can someone tell me what the heck this is?? This was laid by one of my ducks. I found it just like this in their coop this morning. The membrane (or whatever) came off easily and the eggshell is hard and looks completely normal. Never saw anything like this before! We have no male ducks, only females. The ducks have been laying for quite awhile. (Not new layers).

Hi, I just visited your web site and got so involved in looking at it that I forgot about the egg! It's awesome to see people trying to preserve history instead of pretending it didn't happen! Great job and your place is beautiful!

Back to the egg, I think if it's just a one-time occurrence there is probably nothing to worry about. I've had eggs that look like that also and it's usually just a glitch in their egg factory. How about some pictures of your ducks!

Thanks so much Ducky Donna!! We just cracked the egg open and it looked perfectly normal, so we made pancakes and used it! LOL! I think you are right and this is just some weird glitch.
Here are some photos of our 2 ducks that we think are pretty darn cute!! (There are more cute pictures on the TOUR and PROJECTS pages of our website!! www.thecountryladyantiques.com

They are so beautiful! I'm STILL on your website! It's great. I just finished seeing the pictures of the duck/goose house construction and was really worried about those window screens until the end when I saw Adam putting hardware cloth on them!

I've got a good friend that lives in Amherst, NH who used to live next door to a family in Lynnfield, MA who did the same thing with a very old house. It took them forever to get it done. Ed Jackson and MaryBeth (not sure of her name). I know he was a doctor. I wonder if they are in your circle of people since they have the same interests.

Awwww 🥰 Love this Christmas Ducks

LOL, our 2 buff ducks came in the mail with a baby goose, all about a day old, March of 2019. They are in the same coop together and are always together. I think they think they are geese!
I just love how they bond together! When I sit out and watch my chickens ducks and geese all laying around together ( in off breeding season) with the geese, it just makes my heart happy! They really are a close knit flock of 35 🥰
