My third coop is just about finished and soon my resident terrorist Capt'n Jack will be making his long anticipated journey to freezer camp. I have six cockerels all of them GREAT roos--- I want to divide them up among the 3 coops. This means Jack will be replaced by two younger cockerels. Do I need to do anything special to help Jack's ladies accept the change (some will be quite relieved I think!). Is there the same issues as when you introduce new pullets to a flock? Thanks in advance!

yep pretty much the same thing as when you introduce a new bird be it female or male. The hens may squabble a bit with them but it should work itself out. There may be a period of non fertile eggs though as long as you are ok with that I say go ahead and do it. I would move them in a night when they all have gone to roost and see how they act when they wake up.
