In January I lost my flock of Welsh Harilquins, Cayuga and Rouen mixes. I am looking at rebuilding my flock now that spring is here. I decided I wanted to go with Black East Indies as I wanted something like a call duck but not so hard to incubate. I am now wanting to try and figure out a second type of duck type that can go with them that I can get some eggs out of. I am currently debating between going Welsh, Khakis or Cayuga. I could really use some experienced thoughts on what to mix in. I will be incubating the BEI myself.

I'm really not that experienced but I find Swedish to be the calmest of the big ducks. Others may and are welcome to disagree. What about runners? Small and egg production. Did you solve your human problem? So much more difficult than other predators.

Human problem was handled. My neighbors here don’t mind ducks I have asked, it was just this one snag that caused an issue and now they have been dealt with too.
