So I have 6 guineas that have grown all of their body and wing feathers. Where I bought them, all of the possible parents were on site and all were pure pearls.
My little guineas have gotten most of their pearl-ing in now, but two of them have a few solid white feathers. One of them has the white on their wings, with the top wing feathers being pearl and the lower wing feathers being solid white. The other one has white splotches of feathers as spots on her chest and tail.

I'll take pictures if anyone is interested in seeing.

Is this just a recessive gene thats shown up in these two as piebald? Or are they just growing up weirdly?

Also another one of them is showing a royal purple coloring on its chest and neck feathers.

I would love to see a picture
Okay...they are impossible to get a picture of. I got a picture of one of them which is the one with the white wing feathers at the bottom, but just that one caused my hand to be dripping blood lol. I will try and get pictures of the others when they calm down a bit later.

I don’t know much about guineas but I’ll tell you one thing they are Beautiful!
Thank you! They're little devils. Ive had them since one day old, I've fed them out of my hand and always made sure they were comfortable and healthy, etc. Same exact care as my geese and ducks, and my waterfowl love me. But my guineas....they angrily swear me off any time my hand comes near them. Pick them up? NOPE. Pet them? NU UH. Place my hand in the brooder for any reason or open the top to show my face? NOT HAPPENING. They run from me as if they were wild birds that I was threatening with a stick.

What you didn't see or hear from that picture was the guinea kicking, flapping, and screaming.:lau

🤣 I feel the same way with one of my crazy little pullets

I have no idea how genetics work. It was never something I was able to remember in school.
I do have a pearl guinea hen with a white feather in her wing. My daughter named her Tiny since she is on the small side. I thought she’d molt and lose the white feather, but she’s just over a year old now and still has one. You can only see it when she opens her wings. I was able to snap this picture of her when she was heading inside for the night.
