Hi, everyone. With the current Avian Influenza situation, we have decided to get our flock of 6 a covered run (even though our ladies are going to be so upset with us). With so many brands to chose from, I was hoping to get some recommendations. We need a run that:

1. Has plenty of space. We recently introduced 2 new flock members and one of the ladies is pretty pushy with the new little girls.

2. Is easy to put together. We’re handy people, but I don’t want to spend a day fighting with rails.

3. Is durable.

4. Is a walk in model for hygienic purposes.

Thank you in advance for your recommendations!

For my second coop I used a prefab dog kennel from a local big box store. Had to modify the gate/door and add some wood supports along the top for the roof. Covered the whole thing with half-inch hardware cloth, 4 foot wide strips cut long enough to also form a 1 foot apron on either side of the run. Seems to be working pretty well.

I use a metal 6ft high dog kennel to.

Since locking down my birds for HPAI I added two hoops/cattle panels & covered them with clear shower curtains. It's not a permanent thing but it's working well for now.

This is how ours looks. The tarps come down in the spring but go back up at winter.
