Hi all, so right now I’m just going some research. I asked my vets tech and didn’t not get an answer.
As someone who buys and sells birds, what vaccines AND tests are recommended even though they may not be required? (I’m not currently selling and I’m done buying but plan to do selling in the future) I am in the southern US with all the bugs, humidity, just a breeding ground for a lot of nasty things. Currently part of my flock is mereks vaccinated and the other is not since I got them from different places. I’ve come to the conclusion with mereks I’d rather be safe than sorry. But other than the mereks vaccine at a day old- what else would you recommend if anything? And what tests?
I know PT testing is required in my state to sell hatching eggs, chicks or adult birds. But… if you sell out of your house they won’t do anything so it doesn’t even make sense to me. I don’t mind going the extra mile because I just want healthy birds. TIA
