Recommendations for "soft" (canvas, nylon, etc.) cover for run?

I am looking for recommendations for or warnings against "soft" materials (canvas, nylon, etc., not wood or metal or plastic roof panels) materials to use as a temporary (weather, not containment) cover/roof for my run in the short term (I intend to build a wood frame and use plastic roof panels to match the siding of my house in the future). I am looking for recommendations for a (good, quality) soft material that will last for more than a couple of months, but I would like to stay away from the standard issue plastic tarp (both unattractive and noisy while flapping in the wind). What have you tried and hated or loved?

Hello, I have this shade cloth over my run. It's holding up very well in the full Florida sun & has weathered many big windy thunderstorms. It blocks much of the rain except in the heaviest downpours. It was very easy to put up. It comes with bungees but I zip tied it to my run. I bought it in May from Amazon but the price has gone up by like $20 since then.

I've used tarps and been satisfied.

Tarps come in different colors, and I find some to be uglier than others. So I chose a less-ugly color.

When I used tarp it was over a wire-mesh roof, and I was able to secure it so it didn't flap much at all. (The wire mesh was for predator proofing, but it also helped stabilize the tarp, which is probably why the tarp didn't flap.)

The brown "heavy duty" tarps I used were fine for about half a year. I wanted smaller ones for summer (roof only) and larger ones for winter (covers parts of some walls too), so changing them twice a year would have happened anyway. They were cheap enough that I didn't bother looking for something sturdier (which would then have to be stored in the off-season).
