Recommended Hatchery / Purchasing Chicks

Can any one share a Hatchery that would be close to Tallahassee ? Not sure if I want to gets chicks shipped in from a considerable distance.....

Meyer seems to be one of the closest to your area, and a fantastic, quality choice. Low minimum, too, during the warmer months.

If you want to use a hatchery close to you, so you can drive to pick them up, then you can peruse the NPIP listed hatcheries. Search by state: http://www.poultryimprovement.org/statesContent.cfm

There are * 89 * pages for Florida , but the pages are not full, just keep scrolling through - you'll see addresses and hatchery names. Small or large. If you have a particular breed in mind, the breed codes are listed in another document in the link - look on left side for "breed codes" - this list includes ducks and turkeys and bantams, along with regular chickens, so scroll through for what you want or what is listed. You can choose either alphabetical or numerical for the breed codes. Good Luck.

I have used Cackle Hatchery out of Lebanon Missouri last year on the recommendation of a friend that has used them for years. A fantastic company to work with I was completely happy with the experience. Plus they have one of the largest breed selections I have found.
