I never cease to be amazed at how God uses his creation and order to teach me more of His character. If I am willing to seek, I will indeed find :)

Today our baby chicks arrived. A day early, so we were not entirely prepared. We also had a broody hen, who thoughts she was going to have babies. No eggs under her mind you :) but she has been sitting waiting for babies to appear.

Our plan was going to be to pair the babies, with this wanna be Mama. Long story short, I get a phone call that we are getting babies today and the hustling and hurrying of preparing a place for these babies begins.
T
he chicks come, we hydrate them, get them settled and decide to introduce them to who we hope will be their mama. Can I just say, it could not have been more perfect. We bring Shihwawa in and the magic happened.

Lets just say. Mama loved her some babies! Now, let me tell you this Mama is little, She is a bantam Silkie and these chicks will soon be bigger than her. The babies are 5 different breeds. None of these babies on the outside will look anything like her. They will all be bigger than her and yet today, they found their mother, their care taker. They said “Are you my Mother” and she gladly said yes!

We have a Father in Heaven with the same heart and He has chosen to share His creation with us to teach us about Himself… What an awesome God!

We need to remember God’s acceptance of many of us is by the spirit of adoption. We can take joy to carry that on. I think it is not just coincidence that this week is Compassion Sunday Week. We also have the opportunity to love those who are father and motherless, those who are not like us. Here is what God has to say about these things….

Great story!! We had something kind of similar last year. We are German Shepherd breeders and one of our breeding partners, who had an almost 2 week old litter on the ground, lost the mother of the puppies suddenly, just like that, found her dead outside the whelpbox. :(

We had just weaned our 4 week old puppies from their mother Tara, so we told our friend to bring his puppies to us. Once the puppies where at our house, we took Tara outside to potty, put the puppies in the whelping box, let her back in and she proceeded to clean them and nurse them like they were hers!

In a way we were shocked but at the same time we weren't because we know how freaking awesome our Tara is in every way.
