My tom has developed a twisted neck -to one side and almost an S shape. I think he's going to die. Today he won't eat -was eating fine yesterday. Has anyone else seen this problem and any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about your tom. Unfortunately, I know OH TOO WELL about this. My Bourbon Red Tom had/has the exact same thing. I have an entire thread on it. If you plan on keeping him around, there will be A LOT of work ahead of you. Is he a "pet"?

The "twisted" neck is not uncommon. If you go to my thread below, you can read information going back to 2009 and the problems that my Tom has had and what I did. As of today, he still has a twisted neck and he gets along just fine. Several vets have told me that it is related to an injury. I"m not sure what could be going on with your turkey.

Can you tell me more about your Tom?

Is he with other turkeys?
Any fighting?
Possible injuries?
Kind of feed?
Is he sick? Respiratory problems? Sneezing? Coughing? Rattling in the chest?
Where is he right now?

I will you that if he is not eating, you will have to "force feed" him and I mean that in a gentle way. Scrammbled eggs, grits, oatmeal, etc. He may need vitamins. Please make sure that he gets liquids in him.

Like I said, it is A LOT of hard work.
