Hello,
We have a hen who has this large bump on her cheek. The first photo is from 3 weeks ago, the rest are from today.

She's four months old, no other hens have this, she's acting normal but sometimes scratches the bump, her poop is normal, no apparent smell.

I'm assuming it's an abscess or a cyst, so I plan to drain it with a syringe, or cut it open if that doesn't work.

Do you know if this seems like a right course of action? Could you recommend any antibiotics or wound ointments so it doesn't get infected? Thanks in advance!

I don't have any suggestions for the lump itself, but antibiotics would require a vet prescription. If it is a cyst it will have a little pouch inside - if you don't remove the pouch it can fill back up and create another cyst.
Vetericyn is an antiseptic antibacterial spray safe to use around eyes you could use and would work to flush it out if you can apply it 2-3 times a day.
