alright...i have two more ~5 month old cocks that have to go. i don't want to get rid of them, but i can't have them in the city limits.

both are rhode island reds, and both are friendly, well-fed, and great looking birds.

these guys are already some big studs, are going to be huge, and i hate having to part with them.

looking for someone who'd like some magnificent birds to raise. i'm in south central texas, near san antonio...

thanks.

Good luck on finding them homes.
Are you not able to eat them?
Did you already have to find homes for others, if so how did you get lucky?

oh no, i've already eaten 11 of their brothers (that's the "home" i found for them, poor little b**tards...) and these guys may end up in my belly as well.

it's just that these guys are different...not only are they really good-looking, solid birds, they are rather large. their father came up to my belt, and i'm 6'2". he was the biggest chicken i've ever seen, and from the looks of it these guys are gonna be the same way.

they are also extremely friendly....i can go out in the yard, squat or sit down, and they'll come right up to me, do the little mexican hat dance thing, and then let me pet them, pick them up, etc.

it seems to me that all these characteristics/qualities are tough to find in roosters, and as it takes a while to figure out what kind of birds you have, i hate whackin' them if someone wants them to raise.

i'm of the opinion that when you find an animal of any type that is a notch above other animals of it's kind you should do what you can to protect those genes and allow them to propogate.

just my opinion, and i hope that answers your question.
