please help a new and some what lost chicken owner  lol. This is my boy Lil Wayne. He and his fellow chickens are about 5 months old now. I noticed yesterday his feet are red. He seems to be completely unfazed by his red feet, and non of the other 11 chickens have red feet. I have read online and in previous posts this can be caused by plenty (hormones, scaly leg mites, bumble foot). My girls are all just starting to lay and the 2 boys are starting to crow more and more so hormones would make sense. There are no cuts, scabs, etc that I can see and I do not believe bumblefoot could be the cause. As far as scaly leg mites, how would I tell? The scales don’t appear to be lifting (to my untrained eye) but also aren’t completely flat.
Thanks in advance for any help!

The red is normal and a sign of health and vitality. All of my roosters have a bright red blush on their feet. Not to worry!
That is reassuring to hear! I wasn’t super concerned as he’s unfazed by it, but wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something due to my lack of knowledge.

Red is very often hormonal, and a 5 month old boy is very hormonal right now. It may come and go, be redder sometimes than others, as hormones ebb and flow. Perfectly normal. Same reason that hens combs and wattles redden up as they mature and get ready to lay. When they stop laying for molt or in the winter as days shorten and they get older, they will get paler, and then redden up again as they return to laying.
