Does anyone know why this rooster has red feet? And how we can fix it (if there is any way to)

Is it just the scale of the pic or is the left foot twice the size of the right? Maybe some swelling between the toes and on the bottom of the foot. Any injuries on the underside of that foot? I typed 'red feet' into the BYC search box. Here is a link to a lot of old thread that came up. Hope you can glean some good information from them! https://www.backyardchickens.com/newsearch?search=Red+feet

What do the bottom of the feet look like? (Photos)
Also is the other foot swollen (bigger than the other)?
How is he housed - is bedding dry, run muddy?

It does look like they are irritated. Soak the feet in a warm epsom salts bath and gently clean them. Inspect the bottom of the feet and look for any scabs.
Apply some triple antibiotic ointment or vetericyn to the feet/legs.

It's actually just the way I took the picture--both his feet are the same size.
Thanks for the advise!

Thanks so much for the imformation!! :)

It's hormonal. When a rooster is sexually mature and his hens start laying the hormonal changes cause reddening of the feet and legs.
