Red heat lamps?

Just ordered 25 buff rock pullets and 5 roos. I also built a new brooder. I put 2 red heat lamps onside.
My question is will the red lights hurt the chicks eyes
as it hurts mine?

Reds better than clear. A clear light keeps them awake, and they peck on each other a lot more

red is better than clear but, a heat emitter is better yet, your chicks will have a normal day/night schedule. emitters cost more but do not burn out like heat lamps, got 1 still going and its 3 yrs old

I agree that there is less picking at each other with the red light.
