Ok, so I borrowed a broody chicken and her eggs in order to have some chicks around here to eat bugs. (She earned the name Red Ninja, believe me.) Well, the eggs never hatched so off to the local farm store with my five kids I go.
We now own three chicks, Marvel, Banjo and Squirrel. AND two ducklings, Tractor and Triangle. The ducklings just can't stay out of the water dish so to keep the chicks dry, I've had to separate them. It's a good thing that Red Ninja taught Gypsy the cat a lesson; it's pretty safe to leave the chicks unattended. That cat wants NOTHING to do with chickens!
I've actually taken breaks from work to drive home real quick and check on these babies. I'm learning as I go, but I think I'm in love with my children's poultry.
