Red pigeon grit

I have about half of a bag of red pigeon grit left over from my homing pigeons. Would it be okay to give that to my chickens, when they are ready for grit? It is smaller than normal chicken grit and has some extra minerals in it.

It won't hurt them, but it's probably nor necessary if they have access to the ground

It's always a great idea to supply them with grit free-choice.
