We have 12 Red Ranger roosters. Thought they were 12 weeks but they'll be 13 weeks tomorrow. We weighed three and they are running around 7.5 to 8.5 lbs. When should we be butchering? We were thinking a week from now but now I'm not so sure we should wait.

Everything I saw said 12-14 weeks for red rangers, we just did ours and 6 lbs live weight gave us a 4 lb+ carcass. We left half of ours for an extra two weeks cause they weren't 6lbs yet. Can I ask how much food you fed them at night? I believe I read a post of yours which said you free range daily and feed at night?

Thanks

Yes, that's right. They're out all day. We have two of those rubber black bowls and my husband fills both about 2/3s full. It's gone by morning. Sorry I can't be more specific. They still go through feed like crazy but it's not as bad as it could be, I'd guess.

Seems like we culled the ones we had at 13 weeks but we should've done it sooner . But they always had feed and they could free range if they wanted too. Mine were happy just sitting in the coop and eating all day lol. I think if im remembering correctly we could've culled at 9weeks. But the kids wanted to keep them a little longer.
