Red sex links nasty?

I have a Red Star that is a sweetheart and an Amber-link that can be snooty at times. Penny, my Red Star is very personable and chatty. She also likes to be held. Now, here’s the clencher: I have two Buff Orps, from the same clutch, one is precious and the other is a demon that I could do without. And BO’s are supposed to be the sweetest birds and I get a dud. Hmmmm! I guess you just never know.

I had a red sexlink (Carrot) that was the friendliest hen. She was always under foot looking up with her head topped to one side, loved to be held and super gentle. In fact I've also had great luck with RIR's for that matter.

not just you out of the 6 BO's my sister had only 1 was semi tame and it lost a leg as a chick so it was more that it couldnt than wouldnt.

The sexlinks I had growing up were all less than kind birds. I don't recall ever actually being attacked but they had lots of room. They didn't seem to like each other.

My RSLs made me bleed a few times. I didn't like them. They were overly bossy.
Overly bossy, now that’s the description I was looking for to describe my Amber Link. If she is anywhere near me when I bend down to do anything she will “bow up” at me (if that makes sense). She doesn’t always NAIL me, but she usually tries. Now the aggressive BO always nails me if she’s anywhere around me, shoes, pants, hands. Anything she can peck. And in warm weather that means feet, legs, arms - OUCH! And believe it or not, she is at the bottom of the pecking order. She is also the one, at just 5 mo old, who PLUCKED my diamond stud earring right out of my ear and gobbled it up...on Mother’s Day no less. Talk about sick!?! I wanted to wring her neck then, but I didn’t. I guess I’m holding out hope that it’ll still be in her crop when I do cull her, if not, it’ll be a “diamond in the rough” out in the barnyard where I pile all the manure. :-)
PS: I thought I’d better define what I meant by NAIL since it may be a southern term, IDK. When this bird gets a chance she will peck at me, any part she can and she is deadly accurate (as all are I suspect). That’s what I mean when I say she “nails” me. Her deadly aim gets me every time.
