I have a couple of redstar hens that are 11 weeks old. At about 7 or 8 weeks we noticed that one of the hens had an uneven breast. It's been that way since. It seems to eat and drink fine. It is smaller than the other hens and is often away from the others. The whole area is very soft. should I be concerned? It protrudes quite a bit more than any of the others but it is more so on her right side.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I think all you're seeing is her very full crop. It's more obvious on the smaller hens. When my tiny bantam white leghorn is full it looks like she's swallowed a baseball! You should see the crop change shape during the day as she digests her food. If she wasn't eating or drinking, then you might worry about impaction, but I'm sure your hen is fine.

I have the same issue with the same kind of hen. I brought home a 24 week Red Star hen and she looks exactly like the pic you posted. It does t change throughout the day and her tail feathers are down too. She eats and drinks and gives me an egg almost everyday. I guess I don’t need to be concerned??
