Red Star Males - Please post pics of Juveniles

I have a couple of chickens that I can't ID correctly. I have been told that they are probably New Hampshire Reds, but they started out as white(or yellow) and changing to buff in a few days. That doesn't sound like a New Hampshire to me.

Now at 8 weeks, they are an Orange/Gold color but darker than my Buff Orpington female. They also have some white and brown marks on the end of their wing feathers as well as more Brown in the tail feathers.

I am thinking maybe Red Star Males, but have nothing to compare them to.

Yes, I already checked out feathersite, but they don't really have any good red cockerels of similar age, and no red star that I saw.

Well, I looked again. I guess I was looking wrong. Looks like the Red Sex links are always white or a variation of white. I guess that isn't what my guys are. I don't get it.

Can a buff chick become a NH or RIR cockerel?

The two I am wondering about are number 8 and 10 on this page: https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=35977-contest-page-2 The picture shows them a little bit darker than they are, and they started out as yellow chicks.

Thanks Ve. Not to belabor the point.... Just want to not make a mistake on my contest results. Even if they were very light buff as chicks and only began getting brown and white tips and then started darkening to the light red at about 4 weeks or so.

OK... I am convinced. I just went out to McMurray's site and looked at the chicks. Assuming that I could have had a couple of chicks that were particularly light, I believe it is possible for them to be that light... Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

NHR can be light as babies.I grow up with this breed.My grandma never order other breed.
