Red Tailed hawk casualty, new additions, feathers everywhere, rat snake and all egg laying ceased!

@Quackter So far I've never had a rooster eat any eggs (so far)
But I've had more than a fair share of hens who were egg eaters :barnie

And now that I think of it, I've ever lost a black chicken to an aerial predator. But I've never lost a white one either :p
(brown, red, buff yes but not white)
:D

Oh yeh, they both will get them. Had a young barred rock roo this spring that would get excited when the hens were cackling to lay. He'd hop up in and kick it out, and if it didn't break on the fall he'd stomp it and peck it, they hens waiting eagerly. Separated him for a couple weeks, and made the nest box roof lower and he stopped. I'm really gonna knock on wood, other than one missed swoop on a cornish cross we've had really good luck, well my own dogs :( .ow if it is from the turkeys and austrolorps, I'm not sure, but I've heard it works.
