Hello
I'm currently incubating 12 quail eggs. They are on about day 5. I candled them today and in two of them I can see this red blob, it's a kinda line shape but it's definitely not a vein. What is it? Is it a good thing or a bad thing? :)

Keep them in until you know for sure what's going on. I've thought a quail egg was developing a blood ring before only to have them keep developing and hatch out just fine. If it is a blood ring it will fade over the next few days, as will any veining, and you'll just see a little black spot that is the dead embryo.

If you haven't found it, this is a very good article showing a coturnix quail egg candled every day: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/coturnix-quail-egg-candling-guide.71783/
