my hens have been not laying as much as usual. I have 13 laying hens and I got TWO eggs yesterday and no more than 7 the other days. I am really worried about them. They have had zero stress lately and no predator attacks since last December (the only one ever as well). What is wrong with them? I have been worried since like five months ago. They are also just coming into molt I think and all seem well and chipper too.

Things are winding down for the season for many chickens. Many will stop during the heat of summer, than resume for a short time in fall before quitting to molt.

Most hens lay the most in early spring, than production falls off as the year goes on.

Okay, thank you. I am especially worried about my two wyandottes who started to lay and then seemed to stop. They are not molting now. I got them in march as chicks. I got eight eggs yesterday but I should be getting at least ten!

Wyandotte are a breed that seem to lay than take breaks, than lay and take another break. I haven't found them to be consistent layers. When they are laying it is usually daily or every other day.
