OK,
MY chickens have been living in my green house with an earthen floor for two months. I am still building my Coop. I was worried that all the dust they were turning up every night was bothering them. While I was at work my mom who is visiting went and bought chips. Well they turned out to be redwood.. I can't directly find anything saying that Chips are toxic. They seem big like they won't eat them, but I know it can be the fumes like cedar???. I keep them up off the ground at night so I am not too worried about tonight. What do you think? Please site something if you find it as I can't seem to find anything... And I know CEDAR is thanks.

If the redwood is at all aromatic, it's also harmful. I show it as being listed as harmful to birds - so poultry would be included. So likely, it would be better used in the garden than in the coop.

I'd just replace with some kiln-dried pine (less fumes) and then have some lovely mulch for a nice garden spot.
