Refective insulation, do they peck it?

In my experience, any insulation needs to be covered with wood of some sort. Then it may become a home for rodents, not good at all. I do like having the roof/ ceiling insulated, more to manage summer sun than winter cold, but do make sure that rodents can't colonize whatever you install.
