Do you need to refrigerate farm eggs?? If so how long after being laid?? My dads old friend used to leave them on the cupboard for several days.

You can keep them unwashed, at room temp for a few weeks. If you wash them, then they need to be refrigerated right away and used as soon as possible. Eggs can be refrigerated at any time after being laid. If refrigerated, they will last for over three months. Refrigerated, unwashed eggs, once cold, should not be left out though. The condensation will remove the bloom and the egg will be susceptible to bacteria.
