Rehoming our rooster, how will this change the flock?

Our rooster is being re homed today. He is mean to our girls. He chases them, pins them in a corner and pecks them. They don't like to be near him. Once he is gone I'm wondering what will happen to our flock? How will the dynamics change?

There will be peace in your flock and the most dominant hen will take over as protector, minus the crow.

They may be a bit out of sorts for a few days.

Chickens are prey animals. They don't understand selling a flock member. They just know the bird is gone. As a prey animal, it's pretty reasonable to think there'a a predator around and you might be next.

But, overall, your flock is going to be much nicer. Peaceful, and you'll enjoy your birds so much more.

How old are your birds?

There may be some pecking order scuffles....
......but mostly the girls will probably be very happy he's gone, especially if your birds are about 4 months old.
