I wasnt sure how to add on to another thread or if I even could but

Whether my rooster had mereks or botulism, is it safe for us to even consume the eggs that the girls lay with them still acting perfectly fine? We have been tossing everything ever since everything occured.
I was told from a friend that if they did have botulism then they can spread it to us but is it possible with mereks as well? Or to our cats? I was also told to call the health dept for them to advise but if they come out i dont want them to kill off the ones i do have left, i have no idea how they do it i just know that i would prefer to put them down at the vet over anything..

Your eggs are just fine to use. I just reread your previous thread. Your rooster could have had Mareks, but it wasn’t botulism as I explained before. Mareks is a chicken disease, and it does not spread to humans or cats. Botulism doesn’t either, by the way. I hope that you soon can enjoy your eggs, and hopefully, no one else will have any symptoms like the rooster. If you have any other problems, check in here. The emergency forum is a good place to learn about illnesses, just by reading a lot of threads. Good luck. Here is your previous thread:
