Relatively new backyard chicken parents!

Hi! My husband insisted on getting chickens, I was kind of pushing back mostly because I stress out about something happening to them. So, we have had them now for about 2 years, and of course I love them now! I am probably overprotective but I just want them to be happy and healthy. I look on here many times for help, so thank you for all who post questions and also for those who reply with similar stories or words of advice and/or encouragement.

Hi Michelle and welcome! How many chickens do you have and what breed? I hope you like it here; looking forward to learning more about you.

Hi and thank you! We have 6 chickens- four are barred rocks, and I think the other two are RIR and a buff orphington. We started with 8 but lost one for unknown reason, I found her laying in the run and the other a hawk got into the coop there was a breech we didn’t know existed and have since repaired. I enjoy them very much (except worrying about stuff like that!), I am learning a lot, definitely an official chicken momma, and a chicken nurse as well looking forward to the interaction on here. How many do you have and what kinds?
