OK so I purchased some young hens..12-18 months...
(7 of them)..
When I was younger and was in to chickens.. if we imported adult chickens we locked them into their coop with food and water for 2 or 3 days until they kind of bonded with it..
then we let them out during the day to free range.

Is this still best practice or is their a better way.
I brought them home last night and they are shut in their now...

Ideas
info...
thanks in advance...

Still the best way of teaching them to consider the new coop home. If you are going to free rage them outside the run leaving them out an hour before sunset the first time allows them to familiarize themselves with the area around the coop and don't wander off the first time is a good idea
