Relocation of Newly hatched goslings

The info here must be wrong. We have a pond with an island in north Texas. Every year a pair of geese land here, build a nest, hatch their goslings, exercise them for 1-4 days and bingo...they are gone. We have tried to watch them or catch them on camera. But habitually it is the same every year. They just disappear. The nearest Goose Reserve is about 30 miles from here. How do they relocate the babies?

Geese will usually keep returning to a water source their goslings can access as long as the babies are unable to fly, which can bee a few months. You should see them come and go unless something happened to the goslings. My guess is a predator is taking them.

Hey There! Thanks for your comment. However, in my case, the same thing has happened every year for the last 21 years. It is rare for us to see any type of predator in the day time. It happened once again yesterday. We left for most of the day and when we returned they were all gone again???????(4 days post hatching)
