I am interested in constructing roosts that will look like giant bluebird boxes that can be setup at various places along fence rows and in middle of pasture. I want modest protection from wind and blocking of roosting birds from direct sight by owls unless the predator is at some angle below the roost. Ground predators will be excluded by a collar of some sort around the support post not unlike that used to lesser affect against squirrels that get into bird feeders. Anyone ever tried this?
