. i hope someone can help me with my Buff Thelma, who went broody about 4 weeks ago. i don't have a roo, so i put her in a dog crate with 2 golf balls to sit on (she went broody in April and i gave her 12 fertilized eggs, which she abandoned after 11 days.

didn't want to take another chance on her). she remained broody all this time, and i thought i would do her a favor and try and force it out of her by putting her in some cold water and moving her back in with the flock. unfortunately i think it was a bad choice

the other hens are picking on her like crazy. they chest bump her, peck at her and won't let her in the coop. now i'm worried about keeping her safe. i moved the dog crate into their run, thinking i would let her go back in the crate while still being in the run around the other girls, but they all freaked out about the crate lol

hopping and flying all over the place to get away from the crate. what should i do? she used to be at the top of the pecking order, but i'm afraid she won't be able to re-integrate.
