Our big boy Red, a leige fighter rooster, was killed while defending his ladies from hawks. He fathered and raised nine children, all of whom reached adulthood. Bandit, his eldest son, will take over as leader of the flock. He's already doing his nighttime duty of standing guard, as seen in the photo.
