Renovation complete for the most part. Expecting chicks in about 3 weeks. Just a few finishing touches to be ready. Cannot believe what we started with and what my husband was able to do with it. Thought I would share a few pics.

Welcome! What a lot of work, and very nice! I would add a big window in the door, and anywhere else on the south side of the coop, especially. Use hardware cloth, well secures, rather than chicken wire, over every opening. Is it in a shaded spot? Hope it doesn't get hot during the day. Ventilation is very important. Mary

It's a nice coop but I would add a window on the door and maybe a vent somewhere else. Other than that it looks very nice! I love how you used buckets for the nesting boxes!

Good luck!

Nice Retrofit!!
Pics of outside?

What is your climate?
You may need more ventilation.

Is one end a storage area(chicken wire)?

One concern... you want your roost higher than nests.
How many birds do you plan on having?

Thanks for the input. It does have Windows in front and back. With a large vent above the door they will exit into the yard from. The only chicken wire is on a window beside the door that separates the front end of the trailer from the back (coop) which has more Windows and will be used for storage. We are planning to put more roost space across the back of the coop higher up. We insulated the coop to keep it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
